Product Description

The rambutan plant (Nephelium lappaceum) is a medium-to-large tropical evergreen tree in the soapberry family (Sapindaceae). Native to Southeast Asia, it is famous for its vibrant, hairy, bright-red or yellow fruit enclosing a sweet, juicy, translucent white flesh.
Tree Characteristics
Size: Grows up to 12 to 20 meters (40 to 65 feet) high with a dense, spreading crown.
Leaves: Dark green, pinnate compound leaves with alternate oval leaflets.
Flowers: Small, greenish-white, and mildly fragrant, growing in upright clusters.
Lifespan: Can produce fruit for 25 to 30 years.
Fruit Characteristics
Appearance: Oval shape, 3 to 5 cm wide, covered in soft, hair-like spines ("spinterns") that turn bright red or yellow when ripe.
Flesh: Translucent, juicy, sweet, and slightly tart, surrounding a single seed.
Growth: Grows in loose, hanging clusters and ripens during summer and autumn.
Growth Requirements
Climate: Thrives in hot, humid tropical climates.
Sunlight: Requires full sun (6–8 hours daily).Soil: Prefers rich, well-drained loamy soil.
